When You Have To Come Up With Articles Daily, Where Do You Find Your Ideas
Some jobs require articles to be written daily around certain subjects. In the early days it can be easy to write your first few articles, but how do you keep coming up with new ways to feature this subject without constantly duplicating your work?
Journalists come up against this when they need to write articles around a current issue which has been in the public eye for weeks. If the subject is still current, then articles are essential, but there may not be an obvious new angle to the article.
Journalism is not the only work where it is compulsory to write articles. There are some Online Jobs which also need articles to be written, in some cases for blogs. Again, these may revolve around a particular subject which needs to be kept in the public’s knowledge, but which may not have an apparent new angle. Being able to think outside of the box is prime.
Listen when others talk to you, often there will be an angle you can use for a story which you had not thought about before. Keep your eyes open – sometimes stories can come from the most unexpected places. Wherever you are, make certain there is pen and paper close by to make quick notes for any inspirations which come to you. Afterwards, it may be tricky to remember exactly what the storyline you had in mind at the time was.
If you are working for an Internet Business, it most likely also entails you Work From Home, which could mean you are not often coming into contact with other folk so try and write about things you are aware of. Write from your own experiences. Often one or two articles can be created around a similar subject by merely reading your editorial and thinking of questions you would like to have answered which are not covered in this story. Could they be dealt with in an article of their own.
The Online Jobs which cover the writing of blogs are in all probability only short articles so it should be possible to write a few articles around onesubject. For an Internet Business, there are many blogs around and news articles specifically targeted to one subject, so there is the option to read these and then write your own reports based around any new information you have pulled together. Beware plagiarism! Read the article, make notes, then write your own report totally independently of the original. That way you are positive that you use your own words and thoughts.
If you need to refer to work from others, make certain you acknowledge their work in your own. Do not try and pass it off as something you have written yourself. If you have a good idea, but do not think you know enough about it to write a story, do some research. You have found it an interesting theme so others may do so too.
Just because you may Work From Home, do not restrict yourself when you are looking for inspiration. Be prepared to go out and talk to others, this is a vital part of your job and you are not being irresponsible in your work to leave the house, in fact it is a good way to keep your articles alive and interesting.
